Supporting Characters

 All characters are important to a story, whether they be the protagonist or a simple single character that is only used in one chapter. Though the main focus is the protagonist, an author should never dismiss the important of the supporting characters who help drive the story along.

Supporting characters can be anyone. They can be background or inserts into the main plot line. Without these characters, your story will become dull, the meaning behind the words lessened to a point where your audience will become bored. 

As you complete your protagonist's stats, be mindful of what supports your main character might need to help them on their journey. Maybe it's an ally that goes with them, or a stall owner in the market square that gives them a look on simple lifestyles. 

To quote the famous bard William Shakespeare: "All the world is a stage and we are merely players"

A play needs background characters to function, just as a story needs supporting characters to feel real. 

Do not forget your supports, as they lift the story to where it needs to be.
